NAVARATRULU- THE IMPORTANCE OF NUMBER "9"

Dear brothern,
In the yesterday"s post, we discussed about ASWEEYUJA MONTH, CONCEPT OF SRIMATHA, AND the importance of NAVARATRI[nine nights and nine days]. The figures 3,4,7,9,and 10 have  great significance in spiritualism. Out of them, let us see the concept of 9 and 10 and its relationship to SRIMATHA.

when we wake up from sleep, we become aware of our surroundings .After we go to sleep where are we? and who is waking up in the morning? Did we ever think and ponder over? Just think over for a few minutes and then read the following lines.

Even When we go into deep sleep , still our vitals are[ heartbeat, pulsation, etc.,] active but physical body goes to rest[ Mind and senses] . But our consciousness which is always active merges into some energy until we wake up again. In our scriptures,a name is given to this background energy as
ABSOLUTE EXXISTANCE. Vaarious scriptures name this energy in various names. Let us not confuse ourselves with these. For our discussions,we call it as  ABSOLUTE EXISTANCE .This is because this energy exists always and we are only  merging into  and coming back everyday from it.
This is the first step or principle. We cannot see this and hence call it as 'AVYAKTA'.
When we wake up, we become 'AWARE' of the surroundings .Also, after a few seconds, we start our actions [getting up from bed, going to washroom, taking tea breakfast, and bath etc....etc.....]
So the second step is "WAKING UP".Who woke up ?Again some energy. Let us call this energy as
"AWARENESS". Then our actions start ie.,thinking starts what to do, how to do,and start doing.
This is the third step. This step involves our body, mind, senses ie., our behavior which consists of three qualities called satva, rajas, tamas,[we discussed these in our last posting] and five elements  of universe [pancha bhuthas ie.,air water eather land light] Why?our body itself is made up of these five elements. And mind is added to it.

Now let us go back. The firt step is during sleep merging with a great energy called ABSOLUTE EXISTANCE.   then second step being we were awakened by some energy called  AWARENESS, and the third step is start of our actions which comes out of our behavior in threegunas and five elements of nature. Now totally these are how many? 9+1=10 in number.

Now let us relate these to spiritual names.
10th principle..........absolute existance [AVYAKTA,PARAMATMA,PARAMAPURUSHA]
 9th principle ..........awareness [AMMA,SRIMATHA,SRILALITHA,VYAKTHA THROUGH
                                                            SRISTI]
  6th,7th,8th ............. three gunas
5th,4th,3rd,2nd,1st........Pancha bhuthas elements of our body
{1 to 8 consists of our physical body principle and its behavior through MIND AND SENSES]
Awareness comes from existance  ie.,vyakta from avyakta. Avyaktha is GOD ABSOLUTE and vyaktha is GODESS DURGA[srimatha]. Both are one and the same. from vyaktha avyaktha emerges and activates our body [Hence we call this as chaithanya "chith"]
From SAT to CHITH is the concept'

Now we got an answer to our question. The 9th principle [offshoot of 10th] above is srimatha or sri Durga or Gayatri who  is always with us as consciousness and awareness  is waking us up everyday.Otherwise where will we be? please think over. In order not to forget "HER", we celebrate pujas for nine days every year [as she is the ninth principle] with principles 1 to 8 [being our body and mind, and senses] and ultimatly to 10thprinciple.
Each day after puja night we sleep ie.,we merge into 10th principle contemplating 9th [AMMA,SRILALITHA,SRIDURGA]. Next day we woke up with the blessings of AMMA.
 Swasthi!
